About Me
I've been doing this work since 2001, supporting diverse communities in settings including LGBTQIA+ healthcare, affordable housing, child abuse prevention, and hospital crisis support. My path led me to earn my master’s in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where I focused my studies on social justice – something that's still at the heart of how I show up in therapy today.
In 2016, I opened my private practice to work with individuals, couples, and families navigating all kinds of challenges, helping them find their resilience and strength. What drives my work is seeing people move from feeling stuck to feeling more grounded and at ease in their own skin.
My specialty areas include trauma, attachment, dissociative disorders, physiological disorders of unknown origin, and the complex dynamics that show up in relationships. I've invested in extensive post-graduate education because I believe in having powerful tools to meet people where they are. My training includes Attachment-Focused EMDR, the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), the Gottman Method, and Internal Family Systems. I am also an approved consultant through EMDRIA and a registered yoga teacher (RYT-500), with specialty training in therapeutic breathwork.
My Approach
My approach is rooted in nonjudgment, safety, and compassion for your unique experience. Therapy should be a place where you can explore what's holding you back at your own pace, with someone who walks alongside you toward insight and healing.
I've had the privilege of working with all kinds of people: therapists, trauma survivors, first responders, couples, and individuals who feel stuck in patterns they just can't seem to break through. I know how challenging that can be, and I'll be your guide, providing empathy, support, and clear direction.
What makes my approach different is the blend of deeper relational and psychodynamic work with somatic (body-based) techniques. We won't just talk about what bothers you, we will work with how difficult experiences show up in your body, making even smaller challenges feel much larger. Using tools like EMDR, we help release those old patterns so you can find relief and feel a sense of progress faster than with talk therapy alone.
I believe our work together is about understanding your unique lens, which includes the racial, cultural, and historical contexts that shape how you see yourself and your world. And I want to be clear: there's no "perfect" way to do this. Our focus is on deepening that understanding so you can feel more at ease, fulfilled, and compassionate toward yourself – exactly as you are.
